Thomas' ultimate ambition is to win at the Olympic Games in world record time.

He won gold in the 400m IM at the Nationals in 2003, and he broke a British Junior record in the same event in 2004.

He lived in Australia for two years with British Swimming.

He made his first Great Britain team in 2004, but in the same year was disappointed with his performance at the British Championships.

His tip for the top is to train hard and never give up.
